Postcards from Seydisfjordur: Icelandic Embassy, Copenhagen

After its success in Iceland in May 2025 where it formed part of Sluice Expo 2025, and then in the British Icelandic Embassy London in the autumn of 2025, this international exhibiton of ideas and possibilites now travels to the Icelandic Embassy, Copenhagen. .

Postcards reflect cultural and interactional enactments of contemporary globalisation, the transient mementos of travel. Dieter Roth played an important role in the cultural life of Seyðisfjörður. He also painted on postcards. 

H_A_R_D_P_A_I_N_T_I_N_G have asked artists to obverse the once common practice of sending a postcard from a place visited … send a “painted” postcard of Seyðisfjörður to Seyðisfjörður.  A postcard of itself to itself but altered / adjusted / intervened by artists who may not have travelled to Seyðisfjörður before. 

I am delighted to be part of this exhibtion with the adition of two postcards.
