After Nature: Curated by Ben Tufnell
This exhibition brings together leading and emerging artist and offers a timely exploration of the ways in which artists are looking at and thinking about nature in the twenty-firtst centry, featuring works spanning a range of media, including sculpture, ceramics, drawing, painting and photography.
I'm truley delighted to be exhibiting alongside artists who have made, and are making a difference. My inclusion is: Epoch: 07.41 Glatting Beacon 16.01. This work combines a durational-day-drawing, the flint whos shadows are captured within the drawing and a slab of bedrock of the South Downs where it was made: Chalk. The chalk measure the same size as the paper hung above it. The flint is located on the chalk slab, below where it was when the drawing was made.
Made in a specific location on the South Downs, there are many levels of interconectedness within this work: it records celestial time, geological time and human time, as well as the weather patterns unique to that day and site.
