Commission for Prior's Court School, Hermitage, Berkshire, 2011.

This extraordinary school for people with autism was set up by Dame Steve Shirley in 1998. It is festooned with wonderful art throughout the school and The Trees Of Life was commissioned for the newly built Bradbury Hall. It is comprised of eight, half metre squared, nickel plated bronze casts of tree bark from the school grounds, recessed into the brick wall. Simple, sensual and tactile objects which speak volumes about the unity across the school grounds: historically, and directly to the students of today. A simply play upon the concept of ‘The tree of life’, the cross-cultural idea that all life on Earth, all creation, is connected.
