Commissioned by Native Land, to celebrate the completion of Alpha House on Chelsea Manor Street, London. Art Projects Management Ltd were instrumental in supporting Native Land through the entire commission process, from conception to completion.

The placing and location of the two forms has a relationship with the human scale, invoking an intimacy that belies the otherwise unyielding nature of the materials. This sculpture lays bare the raw and natural beauty of a roughly hewn piece of mahogany coloured granite and the companion it has spawned. As a counterpoint, a man-made bronze form creates a unity of opposites: a perfect jigsaw fit if the two halves were united. Perhaps they are drifting apart, or coming together: nature and the man-made world, traditional and technological.

LOCATION: Alpha Place, London, SW3 5QS
